I know that you aren't necessarily referring to Elaine and or Ricky (Jaziz), but indirectly it sounds like that.

God knows what kind of life Ricky and Elaine might be living right now. From what I've heard they are completely out of the Family, but post family life can be so many different things. I doubt if they are living and/or acting like cultists or cog-ists, the way some have done. Who knows what kind of difficulties they might be living with now? Given a chance maybe one day they will make a public apology. That can take time. For me, one of the first things I had to do when I left was to start making some kind of sense out of my life, as well to find a sensible way to live and support myself. Just doing that can take years. I recently heard in a documentary a therapist saying that it takes as many years to fully recover from a cult as the number of years the person belonged to the cult. Whew, that means I still have a long ways to go, hopefully if he would have been questioned further he would have talked about things that can speed up the process, such as apologies, having support communities such as exfamily.org, etc.
