I'm another one who was in a long time, 30 years to be exact. I left 4 years ago. Exmember's time in TF can vary so much.

One thing's for sure, the longer you are out, the more you will see how much you were betrayed by Berg and Zerby and their doctrines about the so called power in the words of David.

About 6 months after I left, I found the exmember websites, and it wasn't long before I wrote my first anti Bergism post. I remember how I clicked on the submit button with trepidation, in the back of my mind there was a fear that some sudden judgement of God was going to befall me. The only thing that happened was that I felt better and I began to be able to think a little more clearly about my past. (I still have a hard time sometimes thinking clearly about it, mainly I've learned that I have to accept it, because the past can't be changed.)

I also remember in my first post not so longer after I left the Family trying to validate Berg's early letters, there had to be something good about all of it in the early days. I got a lot of feedback with those posts, some of it was hard to take, but it all helped me to quickly realize that there was no reason to worry about throwing the baby out with the bath water, because the dirty bath water had poisoned the baby.

Nice to have you here.
