I can't really say how we did, but somehow we are still together. But there's so much that went down, we both still struggle, in different ways, with living in the real world. We currently face some difficult situations in our lives, mainly workplace people type problems, the kind of things that probably wouldn't be a problem if we hadn't been in the group for so many years. Even if the wounds heal the scars remain, & we're still in the healing stage. The healing is taking place, little by little one day at a time. I'm not a believer in magic, that you can wave some kind of wand and presto the hurt is healed, suddenly everything is all bright and rosy. (I can go into more details on what I believe in and what I don't believe in over at Journeys.)
