Use in USA is at your own risk as Supreme Court/federal law bans it now. It has been helpful for people with glaucoma and wasting diseases (boosts appetite) and some sorts of pain. But I am surprised about the use on PTSD. The reason is that it is a drug that often causes or exacerbates anxiety not to mention that unless a person grows their own, you can't be sure of what you are getting.
I do agree that there are excellent meds out there and finding the right one or right combination can take time. I liked the excellent article someone wrote about this.
I also think that when a person needs these meds it is helpful to have some therapy with it. Women's Centers that deal with domestic violence, incest, rape and other abuse often have very qualified therapists.
For those without funds, calling a Women's Center hotline, Rape Crisis hotline for instance, is a good place to start for referral to what is available in your area. Many areas have funds to cover counseling or reaching out may lead you to one that is a good fit for you and will see you for free or at a very low cost.
As with meds, it takes time to find out who is the right therapist for you too. Some are not a good match.
All in all hang in there! Hope you keep writing.
