The state of NY did lose that case against the Children of God. But is the point here that connections were made between cults regarding taking legal action?

The tactics used by another mentioned cult is to examine backgrounds of people that get in their way and then use anything dug up to attack. At the same time another tactic is to keep the target tied up in lawsuits (target being whomever is exposing/giving the cult grief).

An example would be Rick R. who has an ex-cult site. A certain cult has a page on Rick R. that if you read it you would think he was the bad guy and a sociopath to boot.
Here is one such site:

The documents provided by researcher show the tactics used by lawyers, and a certain cult tied up an anti cult site in lawsuits for their focus on their cult until they legally took over the site name, office, files etc.

It seems ironic that Tom Cruise played the lead role in "The Firm" when a cult he is in seems to resemble that "Firm".
