The story seems strange to me too, but not because Claire allegedly called from a pay phone at a auto junk yard. Calling from a pay phone is just a standard security precaution that TF has long practiced. My first reaction was to wonder if the people who died were affiliated to TF in some way, and if not, if this was a new PR tactic in an attempt to garner favourable press, but that's a bit of a stretch. Perhaps it is just a spoof.
