I was not manipulated by Dateline, and I had no problem with the footage they showed of me (although the pans up the red dress got a bit much). I told my own story and spoke my own truth.
My problem was that Dateline just reused the footage they had of me from over 4 years prior and gave me no chance to talk about the current situation. They did not ask about MovingOn or about Safe Passage Foundation or about my advocacy work since that interview. They did not ask about the hundreds of young people I have communicated in depth with or about the long term issues stemming from abuse in the Family.
That was the issue.
