In short, the answer is yes and no.

When we all lived in San Diego we used to all hit the town together all the time (dinner, drinks, whatever - good times). We never referred to Jim as "uncle" (or "dad") because it made him feel old amongst all of us "kids" (I imagine many can relate to that feeling, no?) Jim was never furious at us if we slipped, and it was never because he didn't want us to be his nieces or daughter, or at least that's never the impression I had ... It was more like a running joke amongst all of us when we were out. Funny, Kristi never had a problem with it when he was buying us drinks.
