I know for a fact that Family Members can be loads of fun, and in some ways being able to arrange outings with your kids, and travel is much more viable in the Family.

But for me, I guess what shook me up the most, is that I wanted to live a life that was pleasing to God.

It totally shocked me when I started to review the Bible one day, and the verses just started to pop up at me that were contrary to what the Family believed.

Sexual immorality is a big no no as a Christian.

In every book in the New Testament it is preached against.

Jesus himself condemned it AGAIN in Revelations.

Did you know that he promised death to the children of those that promoted it? (Now there's a fulfillment of prophecy about Maria that did come to pass)

I found that the truth and beauty and holiness of the Bible far outweighed the doctrines that were promoted in the Family.

I could not find one verse to support sexual immorality. (having sex with anyone but your mate)

I know this concept would be hard for you to imagine, since you were raised just the opposite.

Did you know that being jealous and not letting your wife share is godly?

I think it's important for kids to be able to know that Mommy and Daddy love each other so much that they would never think of "sharing" with anyone else.

I know you may consider this silly and unliberated, or even "churchy". But this is what comes from reading the Bible.

This is the other point, because deep inside I was ashamed of our sexual freedoms. (Very deep I must say, because I enjoyed sex very much) But after much study, I saw that sex was never condoned, except in marriage, where you are becoming one with your other half. Somehow this lit a fuse, this relisation that my beliefs of freedom, were confused. That true freedom came from finding the truth. This is where the Family stops being fun, and starts destroying the soul.

Anyway, I do appreciate your posting here. I feel it's very brave, and I hope you don't get in too much trouble with your wife!lol
