The paragraph below is the second paragraph in a post on Journeys from me to James Seemore. I'm reposting it here, not to bring the discussion around James back here, but to highlight this concept of wilful blindness. I think it is appropriate here as JoJo again raises the tired argument that because she never heard about certain incidents they obviously couldn't have happened or are highly exaggerated. Given the highly sexualized ethos of TF from the early 70s on, it is disingenuous to now argue that you didn't know what was going on. If you didn't know what was really going on behind certain closed doors, you could have and should have known. I direct this at myself and many others as well, so this is not an attack on JoJo. I grapple with the question of how I could have been so blind to so many things.

*************************************************
There are none so blind as they that will not see. There is a legal concept called wilful blindness whereby a person who could or should have known about something but failed to ask or look into the matter is regarded in law as having knowledge about that thing. Whether or not the matter ever comes before a court of law, there is still a moral imperative to not turn a blind eye to wrongdoing that you could or should know about. Many, including myself, were guilty of that in TF, and you and other current members are also guilty of that. The only difference is that I and many former members are doing something to try to correct that moral failing. What are you doing?
