I know my kids gave their father an extra incentive to leave. When he saw how great their lives were and how happy and smart they were. They would ask him innocent questions cause they hardly knew anything about his life. Answering those questions caused him to reflect on what he was doing. He realised he wasn't happy and luckily had support from them to leave.
