I would like to point out that when this originally came out in 1982 (first it was out in some sort of FSM's and then compiled in a large blue book) I questioned its senselessness to several people around me. The result was always not wanting to talk about it, not willing to express thoughts about it, not wanting to make ripples, not wanting to contradict Berg, and wanting me to simply shut up, with every possible means. I got in trouble for voicing my deep distress. I was 21 at the time and had been around 5 years.

I say this only in the attempt to spark a debate as to HOW this sort of stuff was received then and why. It seems easy now to post this on this board just to have everyone point to its obvious sickness. But where were we when this stuff first appeared and how did we react to it then? I think this is important for the ongoing debate.
