Wrong! I don't feel sorry for her in the least.
It seems after "Berg destroyed her," she went about destroying others in turn. Before Maria won the power struggle, she accepted her role in that monster of a cult. It seems she even relished it while it lasted.
I imagine it is possible that she married the guy before knowing what a pervert he was. However, she covered for him allowing him to prey on her children and then others. Sorry excuse for a human being.
