As someone pointed out, I missed the portion of the documentary where Stephen David is driving a bus. It's kind of funny how I missed that, because it follows almost directly after the previous quotation I provided. The difference is that in that quotation he is being interviewed at the member/exer meeting, but in the next scene he's shown wearing a weird hat. When I watched that yesterday I didn't clue in that it was SD. Instead, I thought it was Caleb West for some reason, and that triggered some memories that distracted me. Of course, now I remember that Caleb has a New York accent, but Stephen has a Texan (?) accent. Btw, this does not alter my impression of him as mentioned in my previous post. As I said the following two passages come after the one I've already provided.

Stephen David: [referring to life on the road after leaving TSC] "Well, you get out and you have fifty people using the bathroom, gassing up twenty-five vehicles with a credit card from some brother's father, uh, it's a stir where ever you go."

Narrator: "in 1969, Stephen Ferguson is an acid-head going nowhere. [camera zooms in on picture of Stephen beside COG bus, either at TSC or on the road] Then Berg and his entourage, who now call themselves Children of God, come to town.

Stephen David: "They thought the gypsies had landed, but this was different than the gypsies cuz these were a lot of long-haired teenagers, singing, praisin' the Lord, talkin' about Jesus. No cigarettes, no drugs, no alcohol, no sex outside marriage. It was very puritannical in its origins."
