Yeah, the Zerby-Berg relationship is one of those chicken-or-egg conundrums. Berg might not have become such a out-right monster if Zerby hadn't fed his appetite with little girls, group sex, voyeurism, etc.
One of the cruelist things I've read on this site from a male had to do with what his "loving" shepherds had to say about a child who was born with a birth defect. I can imagine a female leader viciously trashing the child's father this way just as readily as male leader. In fact, the sheer cruelty of what was said makes me think it had to come from a woman.
