This reminds me - isn't the EU or the UN wanting to regulate the internet? I've been hearing about this for awhile. That concerns me more than anything. I think it was the U.N. If that's the case, we'd have militant Islamist nations restricting anything resembling the freedoms we enjoy now. This is something that should concern everyone.

As far as knowing someone's IP address - although I am against any kind of restrictions of the free flowing web we now enjoy, it might be helpful to stop predators who have lured young girls into traps and then raped and killed them. The recent explosive popularity of MySpace.com is a perfect example of unfettered adolescent participation that could spell trouble for the innocent and naive which, apparently, has already happened on way too many ocassions with several deaths being reported.

I once got an email mistakenly from a group of kids (this was several years ago) sending out those little Q&As about their lives, including phone #s, birthdates, mother's maiden name, etc. I kept getting them over and over because they were sending them around. I wrote them all and told them it was very unwise to publish such sensitive info on the net as was the case with it getting to me, it could fall into the wrong hands. They stopped immediately, thankfully.
