Lets be careful here not to spread more misinformation on antidepresssants. Although it is true that they can lead to suicidal thoughts in young people it happens in the first few weeks of taking the drug, very early on. Hopefully during that time you are under the care of a health professional who can detect these warning signs and change medication or take the patient off it immediately. The question is if the person has been prescribed them they are obviously a suicide risk already.
