Yes, it helps a bit to see where Daniel is coming from when he made those statements, but his statements were still groundless speculation. He wrote:

It's obvious from the way he asks question after question that he's speculating, & to throw out questions like that with no proof on such a senstive issue -- young adult suicides --this is what offended Jules & others, myself included.
