It is not a question of what they write or say for the public, it is a question of culture. In TF culture, if a person practices birth control, seeks medical treatment, eats a shrimp or a doughnut, (I am not making an entire list of Berg's personal and fundamentalist idiosyncracies) they are weak in faith and overtly or covertly discriminated against. The pressure is always there. Think about fish swimming in water. The water is always around.

On the other hand, in TF culture it is always doubtful if not impossible that a woman can be raped, it is impossible to admit to child abuse (physical, sexual and psychological), and it is pretty much ok having sex with somebody's husband or wife, including your own friends.

Think about the culture, not individual statements.
