Here's an excerpt from that Parliamentary debate that is good to keep in mind when reading the entire transcript (the emphasis is mine):

"Reverend the Hon. F. J. Nile has provided a chronology of events about The Family of the Children of God and said that police could use that as an excuse for acting on inadequate warrants. We are living in a democracy and if police are allowed to act on the basis of inadequate warrants, we are heading for chaos. The same action could be taken against any person in this State. At six o'clock in the morning, whether or not warrants were adequate on the basis of anecdotal evidence, police could raid people's houses and remove their children. It might not be discovered until the children had been placed into care that the action had been taken on the basis of inadequate warrants. That is the issue being debated in the House. It is not about whether The Family of the Children of God in this country is an innocent or dangerous organisation.

We are debating whether police action on this occasion was justified."
