Through the Narrow Gate

Has anyone read "Through the Narrow Gate" and "The Spiral Staircase," both by Karen Armstrong? Together, these books are her memoirs of the seven years she spent in a Catholic convent (joining when she was seventeen) and her struggles to adapt to life "outside" after she left.

I just finished "Through the Narrow Gate," and I must confess, there was SO much I could relate to, it was frightening. It really made sense to me, both her reasons for joining and her reasons for leaving.

I'm starting "The Spiral Staircase" this evening!
