I can vouch for that. When I had pneumonia a couple of years ago, I researched and found out the top 5 immune boosting foods. They are shitake mushrooms, green tea, beef, yogurt and orange vegetable esp. sweet potato. I ate all five religiously every day for a year and i haven't had so much as a cold since. I still try to eat as much of those five as I can. Dried shitake mushrooms can be added to miso soup with some dried seaweed for a great tea and coffee substitute.
