Uncle Tom's cabin was not bought with money that uncle Tom earned, no way. As Jim pointed out, Tom's income fell astronomically short of what was required for the mortgage.
What I think is the poetic justic of it all was that the Family bought real estate in S. Cal, too close to an outspoken Family critic who just happened to be in that line of business. Let's hope if they bought more properties anywhere that they're all located on Jim's doorstep.
Probably not though. It starts to make a guy wonder how many luxury mansions they have in Australia, Washington D.C., Thailand, etc. etc.
