Some more information about this new forum:

Purpose:

To allow and promote open discussion of distinctive issues among women who have been subject to physical, spiritual, and religious abuse. It wasn’t just you, Ladies!

To facilitate the dissemination of ideas, materials and information that encourages and promotes women in the rebuilding of their own lives, their self esteem, their abilities and their families. There’s a lot of good stuff out there!

To explore opportunities to develop networks between women for the betterment our lives and those around us. You can make a difference!

Ground Rules:

You will be asked to curb or modify your discussion. You may be deleted, or banned from this board. I’m not as diplomatic as George.

Just Women! – Give us a little room, Gents. There are many distinct issues in and out of the COG that are unique to women. Women physically bear the children, suckle them, and way too often raise them with little if any power in their culture or help from the children's fathers (and unfortunately that is extreme in the COG). I would like a place where WOMEN can talk. I know we can’t stop the Guys from visiting, but Guys, just give us some room to discuss problems, share some ideas and search for our own possible solutions and grow on our own. We don’t want to live with out you, but we do need a bit of space, our own space.

Pseudonyms – I think it’s a good idea if folks want to use them, as there are issues and situations we might want to discuss that we might not really want to open up to the whole world.

As on the other boards I would ask that there be no personal attacks, name calling, insults, and mud slinging and no male bashing. Also please, no sermonizing. There are a lot of preachers who have spent a lot of time and effort “putting women in their place” – and that’s not what this is about.
