That's a really good summation and you have your eyes open. I'm really happy for you that you haven't gotten sucked in, or rather suckered in, the way many of us did, to something that is guaranteed to sap your life and screw you over. TF is a high-demand high-control group, no matter how they try to make it appear otherwise, no matter what positive terms they use to describe themselves and what they do.

It is true that TF never tells you what they really believe on the inside. They call it feeding babes with milk and saving the meat (controversial stuff) for later, when they've got you hooked.

You are of course welcome to post here, even though you didn't actually join. We'd be happy to help with any questions you may have.

It's great that you've found your own faith. Hopefully TF hasn't polluted it for you too much. Many ex-members get so damaged by the distorted teachings of TF, that they end up divorcing Christianity in its entirety. Anything from the bible is just a trigger after that.

If you wish to check for scriptural support for the doctrines they've taught you so far, there are some Christians on Journeys who'll be happy to help, who've studied theology or done a lot of work on sorting out TF's misinterpretations of the scriptures.

www.makestraightpaths.com/ is a helpful non-confrontational site that examines the tenets of TF.
