I knew a couple who were very dedicated to The Family, and had been members for many (many) years.
The husband ended up with hepatitis, and they kicked both of them out of The Family because of it. They told the wife, who was healthy, that perhaps she could return to The Family after her husband died.
This happened within the last 4-5 years.
That's the only kind of "treatment" I witnessed when I was hanging around current members.
