Try as I may, I don't relate to what you're saying at all. OT2 is the only person we have bent over backwards to accomodate, yet he is the one constantly waving his finger to tell others to behave.
Time and place and whether something is appropriate does matter. That is a constant subject of discussion, even right now between you and someone else.
OT2 stretches what is inappropriate a whole lot further. There is a whole lot of difference between idiosyncarcies and abrasive belligerent behaviour.
In life, misunderstandings happen, and we make provision for them. It's not the misunderstandings that are the problem. It's what one does when confronted with a misunderstanding. That's what determines idiosyncrasies vs. belligerence, difference of opinion vs. abrasive behaviour. It's also a question of knowing how to communicate, given the limits of this medium and the participants.
What is happening here isn't due to a nasty little habit of exFamily coordinators. OT2 generates the same reactions across several sites, and gets himself banned, even at boards that are a whole lot more tolerant than we are. Still, we don't live according to the rules and happenings on other sites, and we tell him not to bring up what happens at these other places, because he tends to want to spread his fights across sites and boards.
We are not a cult, we don't want to be a replacement cult, and we don't need scapegoats, so please! If someone constantly breaks the rules and comes back to break them again while on probation, and you bend over backwards to accomodate them and they still do it time and again, you can expect an occasional quick reaction or two.
You lost me on the "feebleminded" and "real world in the US" stuff I have no idea what you mean.
