Your family and mine sound very similar, so what you say makes sense to me. It seems Christmas is a very difficult time for a lot of people, so many families seem to be that way with each other at Christmas. No matter how much or how stong the egg nog is, things between a lot of my relatives are either hostile or completely crazy.
