No one is "lily white". Whether ever involved in the family or not. Cut the "rhetoric" button. It's a favorite word with those taking the "superior" position when criticising opinions that don't match theirs.
I personally believe that it helps to make amends where possible for things that hurt people whether it happened while in a screwed up state of mind or not. At the same time, when does all the judgement end?
First, I am not defending myself and I don't need to. It does bother me that there is a general formulation of FG as bad guys and others as pure victims.
I am stating how I wish at some point there could be understanding by all sides of how all were victimized as a result of being in the family.
I do believe the majority, like the majority in society, were not predatorial by nature though berg was and clearly some within were and still are. This does NOT mean that I think the majority in the family did not engage in activities that were wrong. The majority did. And yes, some did in minor ways whether it was not paying for public transportation or collecting money when litnessing for "drug addicts" or for a school whether the money went to that or not.
Second, I think more could be done to work against the core problem, TF top leadership and people that were predatorial within as far as sex abuse of children that are protected by the family, like "paul peloquin" if people who have been out for ages or years could move on from the past and recognize the nature of the beast that victimized us all and caused all to do things against their conscience which was thought to be "the devil" while in.
Now I suppose you think you are outing me with your chosen handle and I really do not care because I choose to post anonymously because of the hostility by anonymous people like you towards anyone with a differing opinion.
I have been very clear in the past and recently about being keenly aware that abuses happened. I have written affadavits with my name on them of things witnessed to help others on more than one occasion. So before you keep ragging on me, why don't you say what you are doing besides JUDGING? And what makes you so pure that you make that snide comment that all weren't so "lily white" as me. Pretty nasty response actually and one reason I don't come around much.
