"... don't you think it's a bit exaggerated in some parts and over stated?"

If you provided examples of where you think the book is exaggerated or over stated in parts, then perhaps we could make up our own minds. That is what you want after all, isn't it, people thinking for themselves instead of taking your word for it.

If the worst you can say about the book, besides it being exaggerated in parts, is that there are too many adjectives and over descriptions (again without providing specific examples)then the authors must have done a pretty good job. And they did that good job despite the woeful lack of education life in TF provided them, having got a proper education only after leaving TF.

By the way, your complaint that it is exaggerated in parts strikes me as exactly the kind of argument I'd expect from Family supporters. There are so-called experts who think that nothing exmembers say is truthful, that former member accounts of TF are lies, distortions and exaggerations, while at the same time finding accounts by current members of TF more honest, regardless of the proven fact that Family members are trained to lie and do lie to government officials, law enforcement officers, judges, and even their own lawyers and experts.
