Dear GP...don't you worry ; )...I had just wanted to clarify...as you also admitted above...that people here on exfamdid really express their remorse & guilt about the time being in TF...it would be timeconsuming to dig up all those posts, but I remember some of them & in a way it could never be said enough...

On the 30.7.07 was the title-story/theme of German weekly Der Spiegel about :The bad/wicked/evil in the good....subtitle:The biology of morality and amorality.

It was fascinating. It had also a dialogue included, between a neurobiologist/scientist & a social scientist...the latter got kidnapped some time ago, pressing for money, as he is heir of a rich industial family. It also highlighted on the theme of free will towards determination (outcome of many experiments of neurobiology)

The research outcome in the States & elsewhere could also find its way in the discussions between the generations of the exmembers, may be???

When Reemtsma (the social scientist) was asked:How important was it for you, that your kidnappers were brought to the docks? " Very important. In the courtcase was brought out: He wasn't allowed to do that, a norm had been trespassed. The sentence is of great importance to the victim".....The neurobiologist talked a lot about the determination of crime etc. & that of the resocialisation of the criminal, but to protect society of the criminal as well.

Not an easy subject, but in the course of all I also learned much of how tumors, accidents affected badly the behaviour of some people, known in medical history. Also that the IQ of murderers seem often to be low...I also read for the first time that the brain takes up to the 3rd decade of life to be fully wired...as far as empathy etc. e.g. is concerned.

Young Harvard philosopher Greene let people brood over moral dilemmas and observed the process through tomography...emotion is a big part in the finding/deciding process...it also showed that in scenarios far from ones neighbourhood people decide quite "cooler"...altruism
doesn't seem to work so "easily" long distance...which brings me to the (TF-related) conclusion:

People in TF joined fairly young...their moral compass wasn't really correct even before joining...much less were they really wired the right way in TF...rather much the contrary.
Further the pluralism of western society in the sixties & seventies somehow seemed to prevent an uproar, when Berg "hijacked" our mind & soul.We let it pass, as the "prophet should know" best...also the immoralities often took place somewhere else & therefore it seems that the findings of experimental psychiatry seem to get unfortunately confirmed...by TF-history (at least that is partly true for my TF "environment"...multiple sexual sharing between consenting adults happened with my consent/participation...to which I heavily disagee today & wasn't keen on before joining...but the sexual abuse of minors happened not in any home I was in "under my nose"...so that was rather far away & not relevant)

If you take the poor/sad/terrible situation of Mene:first in the letter it was argued, that she was the villain...how do I know the contrary? if it is far away?...that I shouldn't agree to the treatment at all was sadly overruled in my mind by:Berg,is the prophet & some form of exorcism/spanking I could somehow find plausible at that time...that Jesus didn't use force I simply had overlooked...to be critical of Berg came later...criticising "the prophet" was anathema. With time he hung himself...but sad to say, that much time was needed to wake up.

As my parents had to unfortunately endure Hitler & his ilk...(my father having to be a soldier, his two brothers died in the war...my mother lost her mother in a direct bomb-hit)...I had often wondered as a teen, why didn' they rebel more? But why didn't I rebel more against Berg? The answers are a bit in neuroscience of our days, some psycholoy, some theology & social science. My parents expressed their hatred towards Hitler afterwards, but to have shown that openly before, during the dictatorship would have landed them in a concentration camp. There were some heroes, who opposed...but too few to make a difference.

Talking about heroes: Stauffenberg & the the movie Tom Cruise is now making...it's also a big subject here, that Cruise is a member of the scientology church...& some are offended, that he should be playing the part of Stauffenberg...in a letter to a newspaper I read, that a professor of a well known German university for engineering was defending scientology...being a member himself...talk about high IQ and being nonetheless deluded....or what should one call it?

I do read lots about early Christian trains of thoughts, as I want to know, where else things went haywire in history.TF is some sort of revival (probably unbeknownst to Berg) of Epiphanian/Carpocratian gnosticism...sharing of all things...including wives.Berg the rotter, wasn't the first...& I allowed my soul to rot under his influence until the stench became too much & I(we) fled...TG my kids didn't get TF too much to know....and thank God for the healing time afterwards.

All to say , I am nevertheless guilty for my immoralities & there are some explanations, why people behave(d) that way and under what circumstances. But as I have somehow reasoned above: I figure, we're allowed to learn, even by bigger mistakes...it's very uncomfortable for the victims...I believe...& therefore I do believe, that society has all the right & duty to bring the culprits to responsibility.

Excuse please the shortcomings of this poor post...too little time for such a big subject...I might be a thinker...and a stinker...but this subject is really too vast to cover...but I wanted to drop some ideas...wanted to reply to some degree...wish you a wonderful life!!!
