exFamily members with notoriety trying to move on

Posted by on September 01, 2007 at 20:50:09

What about people who have left the Family but had leadership posts while in the Family?

Any thoughts on how to sort out the mess this causes their children (who have also left the Family)when their parents legal names get Googled and there are refernces to them on sites like this and movingon.org?

Can there ever come a point when the parents will be able to have their legal names cleared and possibly even removed from sites like this?

I have heard of several situations where exCOGers were denied promotions in various professions because when their names were Googled it was found out that years ago there were in a cult. Others have been fired from their jobs when their legal names were Googles and it was discovered that years ago they were in the Family.

I realize there are many facets to this topic which can be discussed. I'll end with this thought . . . what can be done for the children (who are now adults) and trying to move on with their lives but their parents legal names can be Googled with exfamily.org and movingon.org sites popping up. Not the best situation.

What would it take to get your parents names cleared? FYI these particular parents never were in WS, but were CROs for about 2 years, after that they were home shepherds.
