I don't know if it is important for your parents to let us know exactly who they are. What several of us are asking for is a little more specific information about the issues they--and you--are trying to address through a forum such as exfamily's EXER board.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I feel the need to say this again or else I fear the discussion will never progress: Repentance and forgiveness ARE NOT the same as accountability. Repentance and forgiveness are personal and private; accountability is collective and more public. As my friend Bill sees it, accountability is about openly taking responsibility for your choices and life's circumstances in front of at least one other person; this approach to taking responsibility also implies a willingness an amends to people who have been hurt by your choices.

However, we have to do things one step at a time. We can't really talk very coherently about accountability without having any idea about the scope of bad choices for which a person might want to take responsibility. FFing and charity fraud are not good things, but they're not as serious as raping a child.
