I believe I was approached by one of their so-called missionaries in Yokohama, Japan one Sunday evening in 2002 (my 26th birthday). I forget her name, but she asked me if I spoke english & gave me an elaborate tract about the Gospel. We walked around the area which surrounded the "YOKOHAMA TOWER" for several hours. During this time, we had a bite to eat and exchanged information (my address & her phone number). During this time, I asked her for a statement of faith, but she was very hesitant to share it with me. After we departed, I went back to the Naval base in Yokosuka (where I was stationed at the time). The next morning, I called my pastor who was back home in Cincinnati, Ohio. During the phone conversation, he told me that if any religious organization will not share their statement of faith, it means "THEY ARE HIDING SOMETHING". This must have explained to me why this lady seemed to be so thrilled when I told her that I did not attend church anywhere on base, on the ship, or out in town! This must have also explained why she told me that I would have to meet their leader, so he could get to KNOW ME!

MY WARNING TO EVERYONE INQUIRING ABOUT A CHURCH OR ORGANIZATION:

ANYTIME - You meet someone who represents a
church or organization, ASK FOR A
WRITTEN STATEMENT OF FAITH, STATE-
MENT OF BELIEF, ARTICLES OF FAITH..
THEY'RE ALL THE SAME. BASICALLY,
THEY JUST TELL YOU WHAT THEY BELIEVE.
(IF THEY DO NOT GIVE IT TO YOU
"IN WRITING", THEY ARE NOT TELLING
YOU THE TRUTH"!)

ANYTIME - You meet someone who represents a
church or organization, maintain
eye-contact, watch body language, &
listen to their tone of voice & pitch.
Observe these things when talking &
listening to them. Compare their body
language & their voice ALONG WITH what
they SAN & DO! IF YOU NOTICE ANY
INCONSISTENCY, THEY ARE HIDING
SOMETHING! THEY ARE NERVOUS! People who
are honest, will not show a lot of
inconsistencies in body language,
eye movement,or voice tone!

ANYTIME - You meet someone who represents a
church or organization, think long and
hard about visiting or joining them.
IF THEY TRY TO RUSH OR PUSH YOU INTO
VISITING OR JOINING THEIR GROUP,
SOMETHING IS WRONG! NO CHURCH OR
ORGANIZATION WILL TRY TO RUSH OR PUSH
YOU INTO JOINING THEIR GROUP!
