The Emperor's New Clothing Syndrome

There are actually a lot of old timers still in the Family and in leadership. In my opinion and experience, those die-hards fall mainly into two categories: There are those who just can't admit that they are indeed not the "special ones", leaders of the end time, the entourage of the two end time witnesses, if not the witnesses themselves, etc. (Those with an arrogant spiritual pride problem, believing they are the proverbial "one in a million", the ecclesia) And then there are those who are just too old to split (even though in their heart of hearts they have a lot of unresolved issues and questions), because survival in the Family is all they know. These folks, now around 60+, keep the home fires burning, go canning, clowning, tooling, sit on boards, organize camps, write little ditties for their internal pubs, etc. Some also express fierce loyalty to the cause, but one thing both groups have in common is that they live in a massive state of denial. There are none as blind as those who don't want to see.

So, they keep pretending to see the fancy clothing their naked emperors are pretending to wear. Meanwhile their numbers are dwindling and their world of make-believe is slowly crumbling all around them.
