I read in the web an interesting article today, addressing this very same topic but I didn't save the page. I wish I had. But the bottom line was about changing the way we react to others has to happen first before changing the way we communicate with others. I think that is the personal work all of us, people who have been in cults, have to do. I know I do.

I think I also understand your definition of "support", and I would agree with it. I'd like to see it put in practice and to practice it myself. I hope it works instead of just turning out it is received as a validation of difficult behavior.
