Well, this is one of these "fun"-openers for threads for me...however, some people in the past would have heavily protested & wanted the topic to be addressed on journeys...either way...may be it's the summer/vacation-hole here on the boards & so I have some leeway to answer ; ) for the moment on this one...

When leaving TF, I knew that the Bible was just right, as the prophets & apostles & servants of God just had been always...but I felt a bit "out of time"...how do I fit into the general picture?

As you might know, TF tried to be better than the early Christians....but I found out by reading the Bible more & more seriously, without the Berg-spectecles, distorting much too everything, how wrong TF was all the time, without me or others sad to say realising it...or not wanting to realise it for the sake of the cozy fellowship.

TF is in the spectrum on the far....far left side, in the grey/deep black (depending which time) zone, beyond the charismatics/pentacostals.I first had to find out, which church/fellowship provided a better understanding of the sciptures & it took lots of reading.I felt that there are strong points, good points in many communities, but hardly all good points in one fellowship or hardly in your vicinity.

If you allow me to say that, if Jews, as I posted a link on journeys, can get convinced after much studying the OT, that the Messiah must have already come (see Daniel 9:25,26), then that shows, how much we can profit by reading it & getting convinced, that yes we have a Saviour...which is the most important thing to know anyway.

Parts of the Bible, which I don't comprehend & are very dear to me as a subject...I try to "attack" from various sides, reading books/passages of critics & believers alike...pondering/praying...letting it rest & sometimes later you get more light on a passage. There are in the meantime also hundreds & thousands of very helpful websites...my thankfulness for the Bible has increased even since leaving TF...because I threw those Berg-spectacles away.

Sure there is lot of hard stuff to get untangled still...but I don't think it's a "drama", what I don't know/understand...may be some of my very smart friends or brothers worldwide already know to handle.
There are plenty of parts in the Bible which people prefer not to read or hear about - and preachers rather neglect - especially when it comes to people's "sacred" sexlife...people wish to have it their way, freedom etc....and plenty verses are hard to swallow for the majority (I'd say)...I must say, at times I also could only but sigh...this is a hard saying....but in the end it was until now much more blessed to believe & follow the words.

I realise though, that I still follow afar off, yet I don't compromise anymore on sections which are so vital for our well being, like TF did...e.g. one wife, raising kids...begging...
Hopefully more later...ahem, do you own a Bible??
Serious question....also reading it?
