"As for theological debates, I have no time for such nonsense" ...I think, some people simply have more a knack for that which is tangible...visible and therefore study more the effects/works of a leader/group/sect.I have a lot of sympathy for that stance...after all Christians...believe it or not...get finally also judged by their works missed or done as well, although that is not a salvation point, it's hard to believe someone is a Christian if in work or in deed it is constantly contradicting the prime examples set in the "original"...
that you would have no time for that is not too bewildering, since one must have priorities timewise etc. in life...however it is legitimate to wonder, could/could not someone be a christian...true something which we don't ultimately decide here on earth...however, since there are wolves in sheep's clothing...& the talk is further of false brethren etc., it pays to know a little bit, who's who for those, who still have a penchant for the spiritual...I admit, that it's sobering to find out, that not all Exers share this "drive"...(but I guess I have gotten a bit accustomed to it)...

The early church had similar problems/questions, as you had divers Jewish or heathen sects...one major front the churches drew up early, was against the gnostic sects but also against the Jews, who even after conversion to Christianity tried to "push" the adherence to the mosaic law (in all, I figure)

As in those days not everyone could have been a Christian, just because he "muttered" His name, the same can be said about the oodles of sects now, who "know something" about Him.Good & well, but it might not be enough...frankly I have doubts regarding a good many or all Mormons, JW & a lot of Catholics as well...not to speak of TF, that is a tough one too...but again, ultimately I/we don't decide that....but I am against this inflated figure of 1 billon plus Christians in the world...really?Would be nice...perhaps??!

Not everyone you see in the US e.g. is a US citizen...there are some requirements in most if not all states in the world, which the respective citizens have to meet...born into it or aquired by some other way.
