This topic is really bordering between politics and religion but it is really about life in TF so I posted here. My post is full of generalities for that same purpose. In a way, with the nativist and anti-immigration attitudes in the USA, I see TF and other similar groups as attempts to bring the American culture to the rest of the world. I am not saying it is a concerted effort in the part of the "missionaries".

Those in other countries who could not or would not visit the States have the free opportunity to mingle with "the real thing" through their rubbing elbows with the foreigners. This way American culture is exported, and then little units are established as propaganda centers. :-)

Sorry for the political language but conversion to an ideology (or religion) is the result of propaganda, and that is what we did in TF and TF still does. They try to gain adepts and convert them to their ways. Same thing, same concept, same meaning, different words. Every ex-family member has been an agent of propaganda for an American view of Christianity.
