Not without my sister

Posted by reader X on July 07, 2009 at 12:23:46

I am sorry to say this, but I bought the book by mailorder on the recommendation of this website, hoping to learn more about the Children of God and the stories of the sisters. But it is so badly written I couldn't get past the first chapter no matter how hard I tried. The sisters surely have a lot of important things to say, but whatever it is I haven't found out. They should have left writing in the hands of professionals, and maybe fought less with the advice their editors? It is rambly, incohesive, full of redundancies and written on the level of a child or someone with English as a foreign language. Nothing motivates the reader to press on. The introduction was the only readable section, but still poorly written. Had I seen it in a store and had the opportunity to browse through it I would never have bought it. Though I do wish them the success they deserve.
