But to your comments, and mine. You do understand what I am saying, and while writing here I am actually addressing my comments to Maria and Peter. What an arrogance, right? But there is no other way.
I am suggesting to them to do just that, to start a dialogue. I am putting the issue on them so that they cannot say that people like me -- DETRACTORS!! -- refused to have a dialogue with them.
So you are right. I am naive, but also I ask questions. I don't deny that I embraced their teachings, that I have wonderful memories of my time as a member, and all of that. I am not ashamed of having done that. Are they ashamed of the doctrines they have taught?
By accepting that Maria and Peter are calling members to warm up to those outside The Family we must be aware that they might not really mean all, or do they?
Do they want to open up a dialogue with those of us who used to believe like them but who now see things differently?
After all, being a member of The Family was a major part of us and denying us contact is a cruelty they will have to answer one day. Maria and Peter know this point because they have made it clear.
But will they have the guts to walk the walk as well as they talk the talk?
Time will tell, but I am not holding my breath.
