Well, Zerby and their stuff could opt for fiction writers...something of that sort...Hubbard made it that way bigger than Berg moneywise, because he had a boat, Berg always dreamt of.Tithe is anyway OT, but TF makes use of the ignorant...in NT-times (post destroyed temple) contributions are voluntarily and can of course be anything @ 10% or more...or less....but you just don't give to false prophets and by the way, they should read Eph 2:20, it's way past too IMHO.
In "defense" of TF I should say at least, that plenty "churchy" groups, people and ministers have all kinds of ways to sqeeze out the money.All kinds of activities...help-groups in all kinds of places...holy places or just in resorts....and they are real expensive, hate to say that.
So 500 $ for how many days???...isn't really that much,...I know of an evangelists counseling-training, where people would bring their food and cook it too and that way are reducing the costs.
I'd say the real "in" "psycho"/therapy-sessions of some "specialists" (of the "system") are far more expensive...so I am not sure it would make such a difference in TFs budget...unless they gear something similar to the "money-boys"...a "DFO"-version
