I agree there's lots of problems with TFI. I was narrowly focused on the child abuse issue, which is surely not the only questionable area of TFI history and current practice. Where the safety of children is concerned, it's no small thing that TFI harbors pedophiles.
When it comes to "doing something" about a local Family home, there's only so much a person can do in a country where freedom of religion is constitutionally protected. Asking child welfare officials to check out whether a home harbors a pedophile is something that can be done without getting into the area of religious persecution.
As disgusting as it may be, fucking Jesus is probably protected as a religious freedom.
