The statement that pro-TFI people typically use such phrases doesn't mean that those who use such phrases are automatically pro-TFI. A cow in an animal but an animal is not necessarily a cow.
I never said that anyone who would use such phrase is pro-TFI because of the phrase, but rather that pro-TFI people often think nothing of using such phrases.
Well, on looking into it more, I will concede that it doesn't seem to be generally understood to be abrasive. Not just CB but quite a lot of Americans out there don't think of it as abusive or sexist. All I can say is, if it isn't considered abrasive or sexist, it ought to be. But that is beyond my scope as coordinator.
