Is it possible you're being just a tiny bit dogmatic? Juliana's perspective is based on her experience of keeping up ties to her younger siblings and friends who still identify with TFI. She has reason to believe the regimented control of the past has loosened up.

Some people who have grown up in TFI may not feel a great need to disavow Berg or Mama Maria, because they never really accepted them to begin with. Kind of like nominal catholics who couldn't tell you anything about the pope or his bishops.

I agree with you that the head of TFI is rotten. They're all about power over others and control, and I don't believe they've given up their tanha. But the world around M&P has changed, and while there may still be first gens who can be manipulated and dominated, many of the second and third gen who are more loosely affiliated may not be so easy to whip into line as you and I were.

And yes, there are gullible young adults who are vulnerable to the allure of people they meet who are associated TFI. People fall under the spell of predetary, controlling abusers every day. Life is dukkha.
