Dear OT2...thanks for the feed back, not feet back ; ) LOL ... good to have you here again, I hope and pray those further qualifications for being a fullfledged teacher become real....just a little pun....I hope I didn't give the impression, that I or others had mastered now scripture or interpretation...far from being the truth.The point is for me, if I bought a handy, I have to read the handy manual...if an oven the oven manual and so forth...one at a time or parallel depending on time and situation (and there's lots to read nowadays...sigh)...the Bible is for me a pretty complex manual it's basically all there, but needs to be retrieved.Alias Hannah was right on when she boiled it down to love God and your neighbour (only that some don't seem to want to oblige now or later as I argued)...and as you rightfully said ...God knows His elect...those who respond to Him...I still haven't figured out, at what point, the children of Satan (Mt. 13)...weed he sows...really are/become weed ("elected")???...I know that God knows everything...may be it dawned on someone and it's in books or the internet...it's not my priority for now...yet puzzling...as you know the whole calvinistic view of things...that's where you wind up with double predestination etc....not my field for the moment...

it recently dawned on me, that Paul speaks in Romans 9-11 vastly about Israel...so it begs the question whether everything can be taken 1:1 for those out of the heathen (makes also the letter to the romans "more" a letter for readers knowing the issues)...again the context.

As I said earlier some problems stem from the problem, that people, when reading the Bible, take everything for themselves written almost 1:1 ...for me it was like that...when it talked about the AC...I worried in the beginning it could be me ; ) ....if it talks about falling away you wonder whether that was it...especially after TF...if it talks about apostles and prophets one likes to be adressed somehow

Meanwhile I have distanced myself quite a bit from all that...the Bible is still super dear to me, but I try to see who is who when addressed.

I mean, when it talks about being fleshly and sinful...of course I think immediately about myself and not about that "stupid other" first all the time...though that happens too ; )

In a company the workloads are pretty much shared and everybody is supposed to know there place and range of operation...the job of the plant-manager is not mine...names are different I am not supposed to read mail addressed to him.

Although that is plain and obvious...I must say there is some analogy to the Biblical sphere...I see how prophets and apostles were called, what signs accompanied them...and especially the "real" apostles were witnesses of HIM including HIS resurrection...Paul kind of called "out of time"...nevertheless especially called.

Am I nowadays dreaming to come near to all this special calling...sorry, but no way...I am not thinking anymore in those terms...left all those former aspirations and am happy and content with the fruit of HIS labour.

The "plant manager" knows his job....and here it can be taken in the double sense too...Jesus said, that for the disciple it's enough to be like his master...even in my job the former plant manager started right from the "bottom" and kind of was one of "us"...due to further qualifications and study he made it to the top...not my dream...just to say, I know where I belong now for the moment...

Any other callings would have to be very clear/audibly clear...without any confusion etc....and I am not expecting any...the canon is there anyhow and in that I tend to agree with that dear lady/sister I talked of...it's kind of a singularity rev. 11.

Does that make me yawn and being bored with life?...actually no...I have more ideas to work with/on, than I manage to have time...I wonder what I am lacking then???

I end for the moment with some thought/quotes about the known problem in Israel with false prophets...there is my intended analogy, that too many claim to be prophets nowadays...even apostles etc...and the warnings in the NT we all know...however fulfilled signs/wonders are not the yardstick for qualification as a sent messenger of the Lord as we know and that is terribly missing in todays discernment (not existing apparently too much), which "shepherd" is actually of God or not.When I saw the youtube-clip --nowadays missing I think--of Todd Bentley kicking/hitting a last degree cancer patient in the stomach-area I cringed in front of my screen...Are we now dealing physically as "ministers" of the spiritual...as servants/ambassadors of Christ" with spiritually and soulside created problems (my stance: mind over matter...matter "suffers", because something is wrong on the spiritual side)...since there was no healing...it was anyway a disastrous
act...it has no scriptural parallel I know of...

just consider holy laughter...the Hindus have that as well...I like laughing a lot...but for me that is a matter of the soul not so much of the Holy Spirit...or take falling backward...mentioned once about the guards wanting to apprehend Jesus in the garden...the guards were unbelievers, basically...so how does that square??
There are things portrayed as signs which really aren't so I am not interested...not even curious anymore, like I used to.

Deu 13:1 ¶ If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Deu 13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn [you] away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Deu 13:6 ¶ If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

Deu 13:7 [Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth;

Deu 13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

Deu 13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

Deu 13:10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Deu 13:11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among yo

Simon Magus comes to mind, the false prophets in Israel in the scene with the right prophet Micah etc.....also Bileam...

The spirit of the prophet is also subject to the prophet...I also thought of the discouragement of Elijah...I recently learned from Spiegel-magazine, that the burn out problem is also named Elijah syndrome...I know quite a few Christians with that problem..."scary"....then Jonas running the other way etc. etc.

Psalm 138:2 I quoted as to mean...a name is highly identified with that power/personality...so it should also be with the Lord (Father and Son !! are both called that way..even in the OT several Lords in the same verse)...and I don't think HIS name is changing ...as e.g. K.Zerby constantly changes her name for fear etc...so the Word even being above that...is quite outstanding...also that doesn't change.
