If "sin" is "missing the mark" then it's true that all are sinners because we have all missed the mark in some way shape or form in life if we've lived long enough. But imo, "sin" is often erroneously assigned to people by 'Christians' who take their doctrines of their church or their chosen bible passages to condemn people for whatever their religion does not allow or frowns upon. Some examples: One Christian church may believe that marrying after a divorce is adultery and if the divorced person believes this, they can live a life of misery and doubt in a relationship that could otherwise be loving and fulfilling. Another scenario: A same sex couple is individually recognized as being oriented that way, but they are told their relationship is "sin" and they are rejected by the church or loved ones on the basis of (if they decide to) living together in that relationship. Another scenario: People being shunned if they do not adhere to the tenants of their church because, maybe they decided to be a part of the "world" and dress like they want to, wear make up, get a higher education..
Right now I am very concerned that close relatives are caught up in a frenzy of making sure they are Christian enough by taking their kids out of school (bible belt school even!) to educate at home. At the same time they are not allowing a person that has been in their children's lives to be grandma any more because of her lifestyle. I can't begin to count the levels of pain in the lives of so many this is causing.
