It's important to understand that some things are server-client reponses and other things are client-side responses. By the time you have opened any of our forum pages, a java script has already been delivered to your browser/computer which will run from your browser or computer whether or not you are connected to the Internet.

The script is a built-in function that acts as a first-line guard against incomplete form data. If you forget to fill in your name, it will remind you to do so. This error message is shown as a popup message.

If for some reason, your set up allows you to get past the javascript despite incomplete form data, then the server will respond that you there was an error. This error is shown as a new page and looks like it is delivered as a server response.

What you are describing could be client-side, in which case, there would be no communication with the server.

One thing you can be certain of is, as long as there is any communication, any at all, with the server, there will be a log. On virtually all web servers, transactions cannot take place without there being at least a raw log entry.

Your missing-name problem seems to have appeared when you switched to new hardware, so it probably has something to do with it.

The problem with posting certain lyrics is a whole different animal. Please point me to the youtube page and I will have a look at what is causing the problem and get back to you with a more detailed answer.

Hope that helps!
