between the lines...it kind of itched me too...fact though is there is a "rebuilding" prior to WW II ... and I hope you're familiar with the Versailles treaties...prior WW II also the economic crash...very turbulent times...

It seems you lump the time of "his ascension" to power together with the time being in "full" power as dictator...
I myself am for comparing such political power ascension with some "guru power"...but it shouldn't be cheap.
Don't forget, that he had to offer something to the Germans, to come to power..."charisma" mingled with
accusation-politics and lousy promises in fairly troubled times.
Of course it's as you outlined at the bottomline...but a bit too "cheap"...with that you can lump in all the dictators of history and then do your PhD on the subject...of deceit...ascension to power etc...but that would be quite a study and would also lead to the question, why we humans get deceived by various powers...solution/answer for me is in Genesis
