Hi, Farmer!

I met Rabindranath Maharaj in Oregon (called himself "Rabi)", some time after my TF exit, and after his conversion to Christianity, and his writing of "Death of a Guru".

A very powerful testimony. A great guy--unbelievably sweet and humble. Watching him interact with some very arrogant people made the contrast all the more special.

Speaking of arrogance (and reminiscent of TF), by the way, I left the Vineyard here in Houston a couple of weeks ago--they became abusive in their leadership (long story)--immature and arrogant people were promoted to pastor and other undeserved/bloated positions, and the whole church is lukewarm, now, with a corporate self-perception of being "rich and increased with goods, and hav[ing] need of nothing", when actually "poor, wretched, and blind and naked" in spiritual actuality.

The American head of Vineyard, Berton Wagoner, before retiring form his last church, made tithing absolutely neccessary for membership there (at a very rich church in Sugarland)--I guess he thought the "widow's mite" was actually a tithe, and not a one-time offering!..Kind of leaves out the poor, IMHO, and could mean the Vineyard is heading towards solidifying into just another cold denomination--I really hope not.

But the Houston Vineyard definitely needs a new set of pastors, with a very few exceptions.

I'm planning a Mtt 18:14-17 last communication with them.

I cannot stand it there, any more--looking for a new fellowship to attend, now.

Pray for me; thanks!

Hi to everybody else, too! Hi, CB!
